Understanding credits

Last updated 19 October 2026

Every plan comes with a monthly allowance of credits, and every action in KeywordsPeopleUse is priced in credits. This keeps things simple: there is one number to watch, shown in the Credits Left box in the sidebar.

What things cost

Action Credits
People Also Ask, Google Autocomplete, Reddit and Quora, Semantic Keywords, Keyword Generator or Content Explorer search 1
People Also Ask Deep Search 4
Clicking a question in a People Also Ask map to search it 1
Clicking a chip in the Related Searches tab 1
AI Assistant generation (any template) 1
AI tabs inside a result: Keyword Groups, Top 10 Keywords, Article Outline, Generate Article 1 each
Keyword Clustering 1 per 10 keywords (rounded up), or a flat 10 for the "search and cluster" workflows
Each run of a Search Alert 1
Each keyword in a Bulk Search 1
Reopening a result from History, exporting CSV or PNG, saving to a list, sharing Free

If a search comes back with no results at all, the credit is refunded automatically.

Monthly credits

Plan Credits per month
Lite 150
Standard 500
Pro 1,500
Unlimited Unlimited for searches, with clustering capped at 50,000 keywords a month and the API at 1,000 requests a day

Monthly credits reset on your billing date, shown as Resets {date} in the sidebar and as credits left until {date} in Settings. Unused monthly credits do not roll over to the next month.

Pay As You Go credits

If you need more than your plan includes in a particular month, you can top up with Pay As You Go credits. They never expire and are only used once your monthly credits are gone.

Team accounts

If you are a member of someone else's team, every search you run uses the team owner's credits. The owner can see the shared total in their sidebar. See Team members and shared accounts.

When you run out

When your monthly credits and any Pay As You Go credits are both used up:

  • New searches are blocked with a message asking you to upgrade or top up.
  • Search Alerts are paused and you receive an email telling you so. They resume automatically once you have credits again. Switch them back on from the Alerts page.
  • Bulk searches stop at the point the credits ran out.

To get going again, either wait for your reset date, buy Pay As You Go credits, or move to a bigger plan from Settings › Upgrade Subscription.
